James has more than 20 years of experience as a Public Safety Software Developer at Genesis and is a certified Professional Scrum Master. James is an active volunteer in his community — previously serving as the President of the Whitehouse ISD Education Foundation and currently serving as Mayor Pro Tempore on the City of Whitehouse Council.

Genesis Hosts Statewide Career Pathways Initiative Press Event

Business leaders and Advocacy Groups Highlight the Importance of Career Pathways and Youth Apprenticeships for High School Students

Tyler, TX, July 27, 2020: Business leaders and education advocacy groups gathered together for a press event at The Genesis Group yesterday regarding the release of a ReadyNation brief, “Building Educational Pathways for a Strong Texas Future,” which highlighted the need for strong career pathways and Youth Apprenticeship Programs for Texas high school students.

ReadyNation is a national advocacy group comprised of 2,700 business leaders throughout the country.

Phil Burks, CEO of The Genesis Group kicked off the event at 3:00 p.m., introducing a number of individuals to speak on behalf of education efforts for East Texas. Read more

Genesis Launches Free Grant Assistance Program

Tyler, TX, May 1, 2020: The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the need for alternative means of funding for Public Safety agencies. The Genesis Group today announced the launch of their Grant Assistance Program, offering free grant services for those agencies. Genesis has partnered with Lexipol, a leading provider of policy and training solutions for fire and rescue, corrections, and law enforcement to deliver these services. The Genesis Grant Assistance Program provides support to find and apply for grants with the help of expert coaching throughout the entire process.
