The Genesis Group is actively involved in initiatives that support, promote and enhance education in our community, which is why we have partnered with The Whitehouse Education Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to support educational excellence, promote innovation in teaching, enhance educational programs consistent with the goals of the District, and partner with the community to enrich the quality of education for all students in the District.
During Saturday evening’s fundraising event entitled “Celebration of Innovation: A Taste of Whitehouse”, in which The Genesis Group was recognized as a Diamond Sponsor, Genesis President Jim Nipp was announced as the incoming President/Chair of The WISD Education Foundation. The third annual event honored innovators of the year as well as grant recipients, and featured a variety of food items from local restaurants.
Whitehouse High School student (soon to be Baylor Bear) and aspiring entrepreneur Joshua Lively sought mentorship from Genesis leadership. He spent time today with Phil Burks, CEO and Jim Nipp, President.
“One of our biggest joys at Genesis is building relationships with the next generation, and passing down our knowledge and experience to them.”

Whitehouse High School Business Professionals of America members gain real world experience through competitions. This is the fourth consecutive year Whitehouse students have advanced to compete at the national level. They will represent their school at the National Leadership Conference in Boston, MA this May. Genesis President Jim Nipp presented the Whitehouse Business Professionals with a donation on behalf of The Genesis Group. Investing in student endeavors is a big part of how Genesis gives back to our community, and we are proud to support these future leaders.
Our partnership with Kalibre in Melbourne is a vital part of our commitment to increasing the global value of the Genesis brand. Our presence at APCO Australasia and interaction with public safety communications professionals helped cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones in the Australia, Asia and Pacific region.
From Genesis President Jim Nipp:
“Today we flew to Adelaide to meet with the team from SAGRN (South Australian Government Radio Network). What this Motorola managed team has been able to do with Genesis and Kalibre as partners has become the model for other managed service offerings, worldwide. This visit was in response to their willingness to pull back the curtain and show off some of the magic. Likely my single proudest day to be wearing a Genesis logo on my shirt.”
Phil Burks, founder and CEO of The Genesis Group, has announced that as of Tuesday, March 5, 2013, he is stepping away from his role as the president of the company and has named Jim Nipp of Whitehouse, Texas, to take over that position. Mr. Nipp was formerly the company’s Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Burks says, “For me to turn over the business that has been my primary passion and focus for 24 years is naturally a very difficult thing. However, having worked closely with Jim over the past 4 1/2 years, I know that he holds my values as well as the value of the Genesis brand, and I feel confident that Jim will lead our team to continued success.”
Before joining Genesis in 2008, Jim Nipp spent about 20 years starting and growing successful businesses in the technology industry. He developed a broad base of experience and a keen sense of what it takes for a company to succeed well beyond simple survival. After leaving the USAF and landing in Austin, Texas, in the early days of the tech boom, Mr. Nipp began his technology career at a very young Dell Computer Corporation. Whether with his own companies or on behalf of some of the largest names in the industry, Jim has started computer and electronic component manufacturing and service facilities in the US, Mexico, Taiwan, Eastern Europe and South America.
