The East Texas Food Bank serves 26 counties, providing over 31 million meals in 2024 to approximately 208,000 households through a network of 200 partner agencies and feeding programs. However, the need remains great: 1 in 5 East Texans, including 1 in 4 children, face food insecurity. Rising food costs and reduced federal support have intensified this challenge.

You can make a difference! Every dollar donated helps provide up to 5 meals. Volunteers are essential in sorting, packing, and distributing food.

We are excited to welcome Barry to Genesis, where he steps into the role of Support Representative with a powerful combo of tech know-how and real-world experience. With roots in retail tech (GameStop and RadioShack, anyone?), Barry followed his passion into IT, completing an apprenticeship and earning certifications from CompTIA, ISC2, and Google.

He is pursuing his bachelor’s degree online through the University of Houston Downtown, building on his associate degree from Kilgore College. Outside of work, Barry’s either deep in a sci-fi or fantasy universe or getting dragged through nature trails by his energetic dogs.
