In December, we will discuss a powerful, yet underutilized feature in GenWatch3 and GW3-TRBO: the Trigger Module. Wouldn’t it be great to be notified of critical system events the moment they happen? Imagine how that will translate to optimal performance for your radio users. We hope you can join us to learn about Trigger and all the ways it can benefit your organization. As always, we will save time to answer your questions.Read more
Hamilton County, Indiana has an area of approximately 400 square miles with a population of 300,000 that grows to almost 500,000 during various entertainment and sporting events. The county shares the Motorola ASTRO 7.16 trunked system with the City of Indianapolis (Marion County) and Madison County. Upon implementing GenWatch3 software, being able to troubleshoot system events was impressive. For example, Hamilton County had been experiencing difficulties with their fire station alerting. An exorbitant amount of time was spent reviewing thousands of lines of log files to determine if a call alert had been properly sent and received. With the GenWatch3 reporting suite, this data was available in minutes; saving personnel many hours of lost productivity.

Our Customer Support Technicians are truly the real deal. Our latest addition to the team, Jamal Ghulam is — how do you say it — oh yes, crazy smart. Jamal earned an International Advanced Diploma in Computer Science from NCC Education, UK. He also holds a Bachelors in Business Information from The University of Greenwich, and a Masters in Information Technology Security from The University of Westminster in the UK. Prior to joining Genesis, he was self-employed as an IT support consultant. In his off-time, he enjoys World of Warcraft (for the Horde), real-time strategy games, long walks, good food, history and astronomy. Whitehouse FFA is the 2018 3-Star National Chapter Award Winner, which places them in the top 1.4% in the United States. They will receive special recognition in October at this year’s FFA National Convention in Indianapolis. Phil Burks and Jim Nipp (lower left and right) presented Whitehouse FFA with a donation on behalf of the Genesis Group. Investing in student endeavors is a big part of how Genesis gives back to our community. We are proud to support these future leaders.
Daron Walls is a welcome addition to the Genesis development team. Daron’s journey to Genesis began out West, where he grew up in Pasadena, California (the other City of Roses with a Rose Parade). He moved to Gladewater, Texas, where he graduated high school, then continued his education at U.T. Tyler, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Since then, Daron has taught programming for engineers as adjunct instructor at U.T. Tyler. He enjoys growing vegetables in his garden, and much of his time is spent with his family, including nine (yes, nine) children.
Smith County, Texas — The Smith County Commissioners Court on August 14, approved new dispatch software that could be a “game changer” for emergency responders.
Chad Richey, product manager for Genesis PULSE, said it is a web-based, decision support software for emergency call centers. The program is designed to simplify the dispatch process, meaning faster response times for citizens who need assistance.
“It is a difference maker for 9-1-1 personnel and emergency response,” he said.
The Genesis Ops Bridge Manager of Managers combines performance and fault management to ensure system availability and to provide a complete ASTRO® network view. This enables customers to consolidate everything, eliminate the noise, and to drive rapid response.
Genesis extends a warm welcome to Caroline Gage, who joins our Genesis Services Team as Orders and Service Coordinator. A true blue Texas girl, Caroline grew up in Tyler, TX and moved back after graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Horticulture. For the past five years, she ran a tight ship at Janie’s Cakes, a local bakery with many Genesis patrons.
In her free time, you will likely find Caroline outdoors with her two dogs or on a patio with friends. She enjoys floral design, reading, traveling, and antique shopping. Texas Country music, tacos, and sweet tea are a few of her favorite things.
