Long-time Genesis developer – now Genesis PULSE and eBonds Product Owner – James Wansley was elected as Mayor of the City of Whitehouse, Texas. Tonight, he was officially sworn in to take on this most prestigious role.
Tonight, before a room full of family and friends and with words of encouragement from many that could not attend, I was sworn in as the Mayor of the City of Whitehouse. Thank you all for your support, mentorship, and trust. I look forward to serving our City.
Mr. Wansley was also surprised with a special surprise from friends and family: a letterman’s jacket bearing his ’93 senior year.
From eighth grade, through a few games short of finishing my senior year, I played football for WISD. I was a starting running back my senior year but was injured during a game. I was later cut from the team along with several other seniors for reasons that never really made sense to 17-year-old James. I did not receive a letter jacket from WISD my senior year. I was disappointed but moved on. I told this story to WISD Superintendent Dr. Chris Moran about a year ago. Tonight, at the end of the City Council meeting, Council received a presentation from WISD where Dr. Moran awarded me with a Class of 1993 letter jacket. My mom, who knew the story all too well, teared up the moment Dr. Moran pulled it into the room. Thank you, Dr. Moran and WISD. Receiving it today means more to me now than it would have back in 1993.
Congratulations, Mayor Wansley! Your friends and family at Genesis are incredibly proud of you!
