You could say things are B-E-E-U-tiful at Genesis! 🐝

We had a blast participating in the PAVE East Texas annual Corporate Spelling Bee! Even better, Team Genesis took home first place and the Spirit Award!

The real win? Standing alongside PAVE in support of the education programs they provide to our community.

Special thanks to Abby Floyd from PAVE for stopping by our offices!

Today, we remember.

On this anniversary of 9/11, we remember and honor the thousands of lives that were taken in cruel acts of hatred.

We remember and honor the first responders, the heroes, and the countless lives that were forever changed. Their courage in the face of tragedy reminds us that our nation is stronger united than divided.

May we never forget the sacrifice, the heartbreak, and the resilience of that day. And may we keep our eyes on Jesus, walking in His ways as we strive for unity, compassion, and peace.

🇺🇸 We will never forget.

✨ What a blast! CAC Bling-O was brimming with sparkle, laughter, and nostalgia. This year, we enrolled in Bling-O High: Class of 2025 with the theme “Proms of the Past.” Our class presidents Jim Nipp and Doc Deason kept the fun moving along. And while the sequins and shenanigans were memorable, the real win is that every bid, every game, and every donation benefitted the life-changing work of the Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County.

🌟 Genesis Employee Spotlight: T. J. Chapman 🌟

For over 11 years, T. J. Chapman has been an integral part of Genesis, serving as Lead Systems Engineer on our Customer Support Team. His expertise, warm-hearted nature, and dedication make him a cornerstone of our mission to support our partners in Public Safety Communications with excellence.

T. J. is married to Gracie Chapman, our QA Champion, and together they’re raising two kids, with one more on the way very soon (any day now)! He says his favorite part of working at Genesis is simple but meaningful:

“I get to see my wife, Gracie, at work! Plus, I love the team that I work with; our team feels like family.”

When asked about his favorite Genesis memory, T. J. recalled an adventure while training his colleague Jon Hernandez:

“We took a work trip to Maryland and squeezed in sightseeing at the National Mall in D.C. We rented e-bikes to make it to the monuments faster, only to get caught in a huge rainstorm. People huddled under awnings thought we were crazy as we flew by, drenched on our e-bikes. It was unforgettable!”

T. J., thank you for your years of commitment, leadership, and the joy you bring to the Genesis family. We’re grateful for all you do! 🙌

🏆 Team Genesis FTW! 🏆

Not to brag, but…okay…maybe just a little. 😊 Congratulations to our incredible, superpowered spelling bee champions, Jan Roberts and Robert Boggs. In a fairytale story, they brought home the traveling trophy in the 34th Annual PAVE East Texas (formerly The Literacy Council of East Texas) Corporate Spelling Bee!

✨ The theme this year was “Once Upon a Time”, and Team Genesis became Team Little Red Riding Hood. One by one, each speller gave it their best shots as the words became increasingly more difficult. But the suspense reached a boiling point during the sudden-death, winner-take-all round. In the end, Jan Roberts (aka the Big Bad Wolf) huffed and puffed and blew us away with a speed round that would put ChatGPT to shame. 27 words in under 2 minutes!

🌟 Ultimately, the real winners of the day were the people served by PAVE. PAVE East Texas delivers impactful, adult-focused education to help individuals improve their lives, while also empowering families and strengthening communities throughout East Texas. Whether someone seeks better job prospects, educational advancement, or a supportive learning environment for their family, PAVE’s programs are designed to open doors to brighter futures. We are grateful for the vital work they do in our community. ❤️

🌟 Refuel & Refocus! 🌟

We had the honor of welcoming Emma Thorne, Program Coordinator of The Alzheimer's Association – East Texas, and Shannon Trest, Manager of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Learn more about their vital work: www.alz.org/

* More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050, that number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million.
* 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia — more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
* Alzheimer’s and other dementias will cost the nation $360 billion in 2024, and by 2050, those costs could rise to nearly $1 trillion.

🗓️ Join in the fight! Mark your calendars to participate in the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, happening on Saturday, October 25th at UT Tyler.
